Gallery – From the Sky

From way up high the world is a different place. Patterns, colors and distant actors tell us different stories than we normally witness on the ground. The first picture shows the area around Lake Turkana, which is hot and dry with often howling winds. The algae in the water give the lake a rich color palette. The nearby lake Logipi, a shallow saline lake, formed by “recent” volcanic activities offers a habitat for thousands of flamingos. The last picture shows Lake Natron, which is part of the Great Rift Valley and one of the larger soda lakes. The reflected clouds blend out the horizon, a surreal flying experience.
